Project#10- Fine Art vs Commercial Portraits

Commercial Portrait

vs

Fine Art (Christian Petersen)

I noticed between these two images that in the commercial portrait Marshawn is posing is a silly and fun way to show off the Skittles vending machines. Like Skittles he is wearing bright colors. In the Art Portrait, he is very serious looking, seeming to be looking directly into the camera I assume. Super 49 wallpaper is behind him. His serious/intimidating look is to show his readiness for the game. (didn't result very well for the Seahawks).

Commercial Portraits

I think that commercial Portraits is a photo that makes the viewer get drawn in, and think about the image. They want the viewer to relate to it just like most advertisements. That was i think commercial portraits are. Advertisements.

This is an ad for Damian Lillard's basketball camp that he does in Portland. It also shows the sponsors of the camp along the top right corner. I think the two pictures of him on the poster is meant to show the hustle and hard work that the camp is going to need the kids to do.

This is Serena Williams, pro women's tennis player, in an ad for Nike. The clarity, shadows, and her facial expression show the seriousness of the ad. This shows the intense competitiveness that Serena feels for the sport.

Fine Art Portraits

I think that Fine Art Portraits are to take a picture of someone or multiple people, telling a story beyond the photo. To try to illustrate what the subject wants the viewer to know. Everyone's life has a story and a picture of them can possibly show it if done properly.

The Beatles, Angus Mcbean

I chose this portrait because I love The Beatles and have never seen this photo when they were so young

Prince, Annie Leibovitz

I like this photo because I just recently started to listen to Prince, and I found this image very dramatic, and somehow loud

My Work

For the green screen, I found an image that I could reduce my size and put myself on top of. It was just for fun but I think looks like a weirdly casual and funny photo.

I made this surrealism to show a uplifting photo of the city, with the sun shining on sunflowers as if they were the clouds. The picture of the sunflowers were taken on our walking trip to the market.
